Client: Figment Clay
Figment Clay is a small batch ceramics company based in Astoria, New York. Starting with weekend markets and an Etsy account, ceramic artist, Roxanne Earley, wanted to level up her online presence and create a brand that represented her work and personality. Keeping Etsy as the store front, she wanted a Squarespace site to feature some of her product collections, her story, and a newsletter signup for upcoming product launches and local pop-ups.

Starting with the business name and working through some of her favorite colors schemes, we landed on a playful text based logo and colors that matched the energy of her creative pottery pieces.

Since Roxanne kept Etsy as her commerce base, we kept the website simple so as not to clutter the customer’s journey to purchase. We featured her product collections on the home page with prompts to “shop the collection” and image clicks leading directly to her Etsy page. We also included About and Contact pages to learn more about the artist behind these wonderful creations.

Roxanne wanted to keep Etsy as her commerce platform since she was already familiar using it and really liked the shipping features. To make Etsy feel like an extension of the website, I created a banner and profile image to match the design elements on the website.

Canva is a great design platform for quick content creation without the need for all the design know-how. I loaded Roxanne’s Canva account with brand colors, fonts, and multiple logo options to use when creating social media posts to keep her branding consistent between her website and social platforms.

I designed business cards and pottery-care cards for Roxanne to use at her markets and include with order shipments.
